hey man! thanks for the tutorial. The script is working but i keep getting this error on the login.php page:
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent (output started at /website/login.php:15) in /website/login.php on line 17

Sebastian sorry for late reply, but i think this problem is due to PHP old verson, make sure you are using version more than 5, but for right now, you can try to start session on your login page, this might help you.

Undefined index error comes only when value is not passed to variable, did you removed isset check? in my code isset check if form submitted then pass value to variable.

You can not upload PDF file in MySQL, but you can save PDF file name in MySQL so for this check out my this tutorial https://htmlcssphptutorial.wordpress.com/2015/07/31/upload-file-using-php-and-save-in-folder/
and view PDF file depends upon browser setting and your system download manager.
You can check the same PDF file link in different browser so you will see that not all browser direct download file (if not describe in settings).
If you want to upload file and view your uploaded file so my this tutorial will help you. You just need to look into how to view data from MySQL and you can use it for your PDF File name.
